"Santa Fe, New Haven"

Such was titled an article in the New Haven Advocate (New Haven's version of the Reporter) about a New Mexico-themed restaurant that recently opened here, called, of all things, Geronimo (this is especially ironic because of all the controversy about Yale, namely, Skull and Bones, having Geronimo's bones and not wanting to give them back to his descendants). I'll have to give it a try at some point, verify its authenticity... The article said that the green chile they use actually comes from Hatch... That's kind of funny and wonderful, isn't it?

I was sitting in Fuel with a cup of coffee as I read this, which was full of noisy, jolly cyclists. Everyone seemed to know everyone else. There was a unicycle leaning against the counter. A group of them went outside to attempt to ride it in a lot across the street. I didn't witness these attempts, unfortunately.

The weather is lovely and probably misleadingly spring-like today... I walked for a coffee with my jacket unzipped. It's Groundhog day. I am very much ready for spring.

Part Two: My Mother is a Goddess

I received a package from her this afternoon containing a box of tiny, delicious home-made thumb print cookies, which were also some of the prettiest things I've seen. Wonderful woman.
